Lisa Gamache ran with the wolves of Austin in the 80's, fronting a couple of different punk bands (the Ray Vons and Max & the Makeups), as well as a darkly fun party band called Skank (Spindletop Records), and  cavorting with the infamous Dino Lee as a Jam & Jelly Girl

Aside from being a great band of experienced musicians, Lisa Gamache & Banned for Life are also a band rich in Austin music history.  The band features Nick Ferrari (guitar), Allan Gill (bass) and Hector Munoz (drums).

Gamache's musical identity was woven between the 80's punk and post-punk zeitgeist in Austin and the Los Angeles songwriter scene of the 90's and aughts, in venues like Highland Grounds, Club Lingerie, Martini Lounge, and On the Rox (above the Roxy).

She established herself as a formidable singer-songwriter, frequently recruited for session work and live support vocals. Her style is Americana Rock with a variety of influences from Gang of Four to Sheryl Crow, Tom Petty to the Pretenders.

You can catch Lisa Gamache & Banned for Life on third Fridays 7 - 9:00pm at Carousel Lounge in Austin.  Or sign up to join the mailing list for upcoming shows.

"Great stuff! Combines the best of Tom Petty and the Pretenders with Lisa's voice, and all those lush background vocals."  Dan Cook, To the Point Collaborative, Portland, OR.
